T.J. Flores captured a big victory Saturday in the
Dusty Times Caliente 250.
CALIENTE, Nev. -- Native Las Vegan T.J. Flores ran a flawless event here
Saturday and captured the overall and Class 1 categories of the annual Dusty
Times Caliente 250.
“We started first and stayed out front,” said the 30-year-old Flores, whose
Class 1 entry is prepared by Butch Dean of Valley Performance. “It was a fun
race, and reminded me of Mexico.”
Flores had a four-lap effort of 4 hours, 53.52 seconds to take the overall and
class victory. He had lap times of 1:08.59, 1:12.31, 1:14.22 and 1:18.00 to
capture the triumph over 54-mile laps about 180 miles north of Las Vegas.
Flores had an average lap of 1:13.28.34
“There was a bottleneck that we needed to get around, but it was a good race,”
he said. “No flat tires or anything.”
The victory was Flores’s second win of the year on the 2008 SNORE schedule. He
also won Class 1 in the Mint 400 March 29.
Other class winners included Fernie Padilla in 1-2 1600; CJ Hutchins in 10;
Steve Fuller in 12; Eric Palacios in 5; Wesley Stephens in 15; Brandon Hughes in
9; Rulo Solano in 5-1600; John Carreon in 18; Mark Murrell in Stock Bug; Mark
Alden in 1450; Steve Schwab in Stock/Full; Richard Blunk in 7; Monte Tibbets in
Heavy Metal; Michael Licari in 8; Wesley Stephens in 15; and Jeff Carr in 13.
The event had a total of 87 starters and is part of the 2008 Kartech SNORE
series.
SNORE’s next event is the KC HiLites Midnight Special Aug. 8-10 in Jean. Further

Class 12 will be the featured class for the Dusty Times Caliente 250. First place with ten cars in class will receive a total pay-out of $2,500; 20 cars in class will pay $3,500 ... Second place in Class 12 will receive a bonus of $500 with a minimum of 10 cars in class

THE RAILROAD TRACK AT THE MAIN PIT CAN ONLY BE CROSSED AT THE DESIGNATED CROSSING ZONE! ANYONE CAUGHT CROSSING THE TRACKS IN THE ROPED OFF AREAS WILL BE ESCORTED BACK TO THEIR PIT. THE DRIVER OF RECORD OF THE TEAM THEY ARE WITH WILL RECEIVE A $100 FINE AS WELL AS A DISQUALIFICATION!!!

"All vehicles must have a number plate visible from each side of the car, one visible from the rear and one on the front. Numbers must be black on white background or white on black background. Glass is considered colorless unless it is painted white or black. Side numbers must be a minimum of 8" high with a 1" stroke. Front numbers must be a minimum of 4" high with a 1/2" stroke. Rear numbers must be a minimum of 6" high with a 1" stroke."

SCR18 Lights
All vehicles in the Classes 3, 4, 5-1600, 6, 7, 7S, Mini Metal, 9, 13, 15, 1450, 18, and Stock Bug must run a three inch (3”) diameter Blue light along with the amber light facing the rear of the vehicle.
The Blue Light is to identify the slower moving vehicles. This is to assist the faster moving classes to recognize a slower moving vehicle when they are approaching them.

The entry applications of persons under the age of 18 shall have a parent or legal guardian sign the release form also. You must be a minimum of 14 years of age to co-ride. To be eligible to drive you must be 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license. Or 15 ˝ years of age with a valid learner’s permit but must have a licensed driver as a co-driver and can only be in a two seated vehicle
