T.J. Flores captured a big victory Saturday in the Dusty Times Caliente 250.

CALIENTE, Nev. -- Native Las Vegan T.J. Flores ran a flawless event here Saturday and captured the overall and Class 1 categories of the annual Dusty Times Caliente 250.

“We started first and stayed out front,” said the 30-year-old Flores, whose Class 1 entry is prepared by Butch Dean of Valley Performance. “It was a fun race, and reminded me of Mexico.”

Flores had a four-lap effort of 4 hours, 53.52 seconds to take the overall and class victory. He had lap times of 1:08.59, 1:12.31, 1:14.22 and 1:18.00 to capture the triumph over 54-mile laps about 180 miles north of Las Vegas.

Flores had an average lap of 1:13.28.34

“There was a bottleneck that we needed to get around, but it was a good race,” he said. “No flat tires or anything.”

The victory was Flores’s second win of the year on the 2008 SNORE schedule. He also won Class 1 in the Mint 400 March 29.

Other class winners included Fernie Padilla in 1-2 1600; CJ Hutchins in 10; Steve Fuller in 12; Eric Palacios in 5; Wesley Stephens in 15; Brandon Hughes in 9; Rulo Solano in 5-1600; John Carreon in 18; Mark Murrell in Stock Bug; Mark Alden in 1450; Steve Schwab in Stock/Full; Richard Blunk in 7; Monte Tibbets in Heavy Metal; Michael Licari in 8; Wesley Stephens in 15; and Jeff Carr in 13.
