After meeting with the Ridgecrest BLM last week this race is a GO . For the 1st time the BLM in Ridgecrest is allowing SNORE to close the open area east of Trona road with the help of BLM rangers and Kern county search and rescue , This action will help make this a safer event . There will be 2 spectator areas that are near the start line and these are the only areas accessible without a pit pass . I ask all that are thinking of coming to the race to be a spectator at the race please follow all the rules so that off road racing in California can continue .

If you want to be closer to the action, be a Volunteer.

I really like the idea of the area being closed with the help of the BLM and other authorities. This is a first for racing in CA and hopefully a step to keeping the lands open for future events.
I did notice that it was posted that there would be a "fun run" on Friday before the race. Am I to understand that this is the only time any sort of pre-running will be allowed? If so, I imagine that the course marking will not take place the week before as is typical with SNORE and thus any pit marking will also not be allowed until Friday? Is that correct?

The BLM has reservations about an open pre-run and Snore noticed that the open pre-run at Ridgecrest has put more stress on the track so has decided that it would be safer and do less degradation with a 40 MPH fun run on Friday . With the district 37 race this weekend in Ridgecrest there will no be course marking tell Wednesday . Please remember that we are all under a microscope , please be on your best behavior If this land closure works it can be the thing that saves the sport in California .
